WHAT MAKES RESTORED PIANOS BETTER?

The old piano’s structures and components were carefully manufactured of premium quality materials by craftsman who spent a lifetime practicing their trade.

Today's piano factories employ many unskilled, sometimes underpaid labor for their assembly lines and they use cheaper, easier to find parts.

This practice started during the recession time in the 1930’s when manufacturers had to cut costs just to survive. There are irregularities in almost all new instruments.

When an instrument comes into our shop for restoration, it is restored to the original manufacturer’s specification.

Often, high maintenance action parts are replaced by those of the world famous piano action manufactory of RENNER in Germany.

These action parts will perform better and are much easier and faster to regulate and are therefore cost saving.

RENNER makes these parts for all types of grand- and upright pianos, including the famous makes.

WHY IS IT WORTH RESTORING A PIANO FROM TIMES GONE BY?

If you own a good make instrument or even a very famous one, whether it is a grand or upright piano, it is very much advisable to look into a full restoration, because such instruments are highly priced on today’s market.

For an upright, the price can be well as much as $20,000. For a grand piano, depending on its size, it can be well over the $ 100,000 mark.

The cost of a full restoration of such an instrument will be significantly less than the purchase price of a comparable new instrument.

HOW WE RESTORE YOUR PIANO?

New pinblocks, if needed, are  of multi-laminate eastern maple. These pinblocks are far superior than the old two or three laminate pinblocks used in older pianos, and will never crack or warp.

New soundboards, if needed, are made of the finest quality Sitka or White Spruce, hand selected by us.

They are air dried and manufactured with great care in our shop.

New mechanisms are the world famous RENNER actions, the same as used by BÖSENDORFER and Hamburg STEINWAY.

New hammers are of the highest quality by RENNER or ABEL.

Strings are the very best; the RÖSLAU brand.

The cabinet is expertly restored and refinished to the finest tradition of instrument making.

WHAT IS A RESTORED PIANO?

It is a piano, carefully made by yesterday’s craftsman and restored with the same concern for detail in our workshop.

It is a piano re-conditioned in an atmosphere where time and material are secondary to the perfection of the musical instrument itself.

Our philosophy is to rebuild and refinish pianos in the same spirit that they were made.

We have the technology, we have the facilities and we have the concern.

The results are beautiful.

Feel free to call us for more information, like guarantee, trade in, etc.

Why would you purchase a mass produced piano?

You can be the proud owner of a fine handcrafted instrument that will last well into future generations.

THE CHOICE IS YOURS!
